CounselorsThomas Callanan, CADC, MISA – With over 19 years in the treatment field, facilitates risk education and group counseling, intake assessment and discharge planning. Debra Knafl, LCSW, CADC – Received her Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences from University of St. Frances in Joliet, IL, a Masters in Social Work from Aurora University in 2001, and her Certification as a C.A.D.C. in 2003. Debra is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes with adolescents and adults in understanding the disease concept regarding substance related issues. Debra has provided individual and group treatment since joining New Visions in 2001. She utilizes a strength-based approach to explore and work through problems concerning self-confidence, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy to address triggers and environment aspect of dependences. Debra's approach allows exploration of various underlying life experiences which may offer a new perspective to client’s with misuse, abuse or dependence problems. Michael G. McCann, LCSW – A practicing licensed clinical social worker since 1986 who coordinates our Domestic Abuse and Anger Management programs in the evenings and works full time at Hines VA Hospital in mental health and substance abuse areas. Erika Schultz, LSW, MSW – Graduated from the University of St. Francis with her Master Degree in social work and is licensed to practice social work in the state of Illinois. Qualified to complete comprehensive services for all levels of DUI, Court, and Secretary of State appointed counseling and services (i.e. Court Evaluations, S.O.S. Evaluations, and Substance Abuse Assessments). Kathie S. Wilson, BA, CADC, MISA – With sixteen years in the field of addictions, inpatient treatment, half-way house treatment and outpatient treatment. |
